The Rat's Nest
Sometimes I fail to have something to say.
It's true.
Times like these I'm either myopically engrossed in the details of something so truly fascinating and time consuming that higher brain functions like communicating and "Hey, your body is hungry, you should eat something." get neglected or the Universe and its Powers That Be have conspired to humble me in a way that leaves me too chastised to even be self-depricating.
It's also usually when I start tinkering with shit.
You may have noticed that the sidebar, to your right (my left?*) now includes a slideshow of my recent Flickr uploads. This won't mean I will likely remember to upload pictures to Flickr more consistently or that I will start taking better pictures. It means you'll probably see the same pictures over and over again until you're sick of them.
And then, WHAM. I'll hit you with something new. Probably a picture of food. Won't that be exciting?
In addition, since the sidebar now contains my Flickr stream, my Twitter stream, and the archives I've retitled it the Rat's Nest. I thought Templeton's Nest was a little on the nose.
In other exciting news, Twitter has now made it possible to embed tweets as HTML. Like this:
"With real-world friends posting what they had for brunch and the rest of you posting what my mom had for brunch, I'm craving me some brunch."
less than a minute ago via Birdhouse
The Tweet is the new soundbyte. Or the new one-liner. Or the new quote. Or something. Maybe it's just still new.
* I will now spend several hours contemplating whether or not the author of a website has a metaphysical presence while his or her site is being read. Might get stuck on this one.
