We Have Always Been At War With Facebook!
Apparently Facebook made some people very upset with the recent changes they made to their privacy policy and settings. While I understand the sentiment of privacy, I do not understand the people who demand copious amounts of it from the internet. It's the internet. It is by design about connections. Those connections can be safe and structured, but at the core of the internet is the principal of interaction! If you have a problem with the Facebook privacy options, which are perhaps the most granular of any social enterprise the world has ever known, what the hell are you doing on the internet?! I hate to speculate, but it is my guess that those of us who were around for the birthing of Facebook, long before it spread to the High Schools and then the general public, are not the ones throwing a tantrum over this. Facebook and other social media have become a catalyst for disparity between those who have grown up with their extensive networks that abhor privacy, and those who haven't.
Which makes for an excellent segue into this fantastic video that's been making the rounds among the enlightened corners of the internet.
